Jack Wilshere anyone?
We are said to be interested in buying him and maintaining his £120,000 per week contract.
My longstanding campaign to rid our first team of totally one-footed players has had nil success so far, and Wilshere is yet another one (actually worse than most) who could not be arsed to learn to use his other foot effectively, which is not a good sign when you want effort and intelligence in your team.

I've lots of Gooner mates and they love the bloke but they know he's made of glass. We buy enough 'fragile' players so whilst I think he's a great player for the reason above I am out!

We should be so lucky.

Re: Jack Wilshere anyone?
He'll be available on a free in the summer by the looks of things. I'd imagine that would appeal to Sullivan so I could definitely see us making a move for him. Would depend on who else is interested though as to whether we could actually get him.

He is a massive cut above anything we have currently in that area (which is basically nothing) so it's a yes from me. We should have signed both him and Carvalho last summer when we had the chance.

Yes I'd take him even if he plays only half the season. Especially as we won't have Lanzini I don't think.

Re: Jack Wilshere anyone?
Even on the injury front he played 27 games last season and so far 32 in this campaign. It seems like he's improving in that area.

Obviously the moment he pulls on a West Ham shirt it's sods law he'll revert to type, but I think he is worth the risk.

Got to be better than some of the underwhelming shite we've been linked with like Harry Arter and Ki Sung-Yueng who can't even get a game for their own two bob outfits half the time.

Re: Jack Wilshere anyone?
I'd 100% take a chance on him. He is the sort of player that's worth the risk, especially considering there's no transfer fee. We need at least 2 central midfielders, 3 if we can get shot of the utterly useless Kouyate.

Re: Jack Wilshere anyone?
Arsenal fans love him. His family and mates would love him to play for West Ham. Would we get him even if a 'free'. Would he last a season? Suspect he will go elsewhere

Re: Jack Wilshere anyone?
We missed the boat last summer. He was keen to join but now he is back in the Arsenal set up can see him staying there or going to someone as big.

Englands best CM. If the owners had paid up for him I doubt we would find ourselves in the situation we are now.

Twice the player Noble is.

Re: Jack Wilshere anyone?
He is twice the player Noble is, no doubt, and Noble is our best central midfielder, with Obiang just behind him.

last thing we need is another raspberry who's always injured, no from me

I'd wouldn't mind him, although not for £120k a week.

I thought Arsenal had only offered him a pay as you play deal on lower money? Not sure he will take that.

He is at the end of his contract, so without the transfer fee his wages become less of an issue. Excellent player on his day and looking to be finding some kind of form but of course his injury record is terrible. Would consider it as we have plenty of cover in the position but not at the expense of other signings.

Re: Jack Wilshere anyone?
I'd like a player that plays more games than he spends on the injury table, if that's not too much to ask?

Re: Jack Wilshere anyone?
Forget the one foot issue you have, you would like to think the club has learned from how they have been stung with Carroll's injury problems they wouldn't touch any player like this.

Look at West Brom with Sturridge. Do people never learn.

Once they fall into the injury prone category you can write that player off.

As good as Wilshere is on his day, a club our size can't afford to have those types of players on the books as it ruins a season. It's okay to an extent for a club of Arsenal's size as for instance they have a Ramsey etc. to just jump straight in.

Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere though so I am guessing it is pure horse.

If you are happy with Wilshire then you are happy with Carroll

Lee Trundle 5:34 Tue Apr 3
Re: Jack Wilshere anyone?
His last big injury that saw him miss a load of games was almost 3 years ago, wasn't it?

He's probably been fitter and available for more games than all our midfielders since then.

Wasn't he injured for Bournemouth last season that took him out all summer?
